Industrial Drainage Channels - INZA S160-400
Our AISI304 and 316L stainless steel industrial drainage channels from the Inza S Range are available in different widths, adapting to the needs of each situation depending on the water flow to be collected. This modular system is designed to facilitate installation and ensure efficient drainage in various industrial facilities.
Our Inza S channels feature steel anchoring claws that ensure excellent bonding to concrete, providing a solid and robust installation. Additionally, some models include levelling feet, further facilitating the installation process, and a stainless steel or NBR profile that reinforces the upper flange of the stainless steel channel.
The Inza S channel lines form a modular system, with sections of different shapes and lengths, which are joined together using stainless steel plates and screws. This allows for a flexible configuration to adapt to the needs of each installation. Furthermore, the channels in this range are equipped with EPDM gaskets, which guarantee perfect sealing and efficient drainage.
All sections of the Inza S stainless steel channels with grates are designed with a **built-in fall** (from 0.5% to 2%), which promotes fast and efficient drainage. The channel’s internal shape, with a **V-shaped section**, increases the water flow velocity, optimising the flow and preventing any kind of stagnation.
These channels can be configured with **sections up to 24 metres in length between outlets**, making them an ideal solution for large-scale installations.
We answer your questions about our grated channels
What is a stainless steel channel with a grate?
A stainless steel channel with grating is a linear drainage system comprising a main structure (channel or trench drain) and a grating cover that allows for surface water collection. Its function is to efficiently convey the flow towards the drainage system, preventing surface accumulations.
These systems are essential in areas with vehicle traffic, pedestrian streets, industrial environments, and any space where surface liquid flow needs to be controlled safely and effectively. It is the ideal system when large flow rates require drainage.
INZA S grated channels form a modular system with straight sections, bends, corners, siphonic outlets, etc., all with watertight connections, internal slopes, and a design focused on achieving good maintenance, preventing contamination, and providing a solution with high mechanical resistance and great durability.
Stainless steel grated channels are widely used in industrial facilities, wineries, olive oil mills, meat processing plants, bottling plants, laboratories, hospitals, and any space requiring hygiene, durability and efficiency in drainage.
Inza has standard sections in stock for immediate supply, and we also design and manufacture a complete custom system tailored to your project.
What is a stainless steel channel with a grate used for?
Grated channels have the primary function of facilitating the evacuation of water, wastewater, or other types of liquids, whether for cleaning tasks, rainwater drainage, or industrial process waste. They act as a linear drain and are the ideal solution for drainage systems in processes with high levels of waste, as access to the channels and drains is very simple by merely removing the grates. They are also suitable for production halls where industrial traffic may occur, by choosing a grate with the appropriate resistance for the traffic to be supported.
Furthermore, these types of channels simplify floor slopes and keep rooms dry and free from contamination. Specifically, they are used for:
- Prevent water accumulation that could generate slip hazards or structural deterioration
- Ensure hygienic conditions in areas where water control is essential
- Comply with sanitary regulations in facilities where food or chemical products are handled
- Collect and convey rainwater on industrial, commercial, and urban surfaces economically and efficiently, combining an aesthetic and functionally highly valued solution due to its simplicity, which prevents problems of bad odours from the subsequent sanitation or rainwater network, and which is perfect for installation on floor slabs or waterproofed areas, as it avoids the risk of leaks and is easy to clean and maintain
- Processes with high solid waste content
- Processes with highly corrosive liquid waste
These are modular systems that allow inspection at any point and enable various configurations by combining elements with each other using watertight connections.
What outlets do these types of channels have?
The outlets or water discharge from a grated drainage channel can be of two types: via an industrial floor drain or via a direct outlet from the bottom of the channel. These are always outlets with a removable odour trap (siphon) to facilitate cleaning.
- Floor Drains: the modular nature of metal grated channels allows for the use of any Inza industrial floor drain. These drains are fitted with a top extension to allow for connection with the channel.

- Direct Outlets: These are trapped outlets welded directly to the bottom of the channel. They can be vertical or horizontal and may include solid collection baskets and removable traps.

How do linear drains differ from stainless steel grated channels?
Prefabricated drainage channels are the optimal solution for conveying rainwater, preventing problems with puddles and dampness in unwanted areas. They are an easy and quick to install solution, offering a high level of finish and excellent technical performance.
We achieve waterproof and durable lines with watertight connections, and internal surfaces with a low roughness coefficient and no pores that could lead to subsequent problems.
In this way, we simplify the installation of the channel with a drainage grate compared to a system with point drains:
- They require less depth
- Slope creation is simplified, resulting in more even floors
- Cleaning is made easier and clogging problems are avoided, as this type of grated channel is accessible along its entire length
- It limits the accumulation of connections to pipes and inspection chambers
What types of stainless steel gratings exist for drainage channels and in which cases is each recommended?
At INZA, we offer three main types of stainless steel gratings designed to meet diverse load requirements and environments:
- Open Mesh Grating: manufactured with an electrofused construction of flat bars of various thicknesses, it is ideal for industrial areas requiring high water catchment capacity. Available in load classes L15 and M125, an anti-slip finish option is offered for enhanced safety in wet areas.
- Bar Grating: widely used in industrial applications thanks to its good drainage capacity and resistance to vehicular traffic. It adapts to different configurations based on width and load class, maintaining a balance between robustness and efficiency. Also available in load classes L15 and M125.
- Slotted Grating: composed of a top flat bar and transverse support bars, it features a side slot that allows for efficient water collection. Its structure supports heavy loads, making it ideal for high-traffic areas and industrial environments where impact resistance is a priority. Available in load classes L15 and M125. It is also used where a more refined aesthetic is desired and extra protection against the entry of large debris is needed. In its “concealed slot” version, the drainage is almost invisible, ideal for architecturally sensitive areas or for separating wet/dry zones.
In particularly aggressive environments, it is recommended to opt for gratings manufactured from AISI316 stainless steel, which offers superior corrosion resistance.
HOW DRAINAGE CHANNELS WITH GRATES WORK
Grated drainage channels act as a surface collection pathway for rainwater or liquid waste, directing them into the main drainage network. The grate serves a dual purpose: it allows water entry and protects the channel from objects that could obstruct it or damage its structure.
Their efficiency depends on both the channel design and the material used, and at Inza, we meticulously attend to every technical detail to maximise hydraulic performance in any environment.
